BIOFACH, the World’s Leading Trade Fair for Organic Food, and VIVANESS, the International Trade Fair for Natural and Organic Personal Care, achieved record highs for exhibitor numbers, exhibition space and international attendance at this year’s events. A total of 3,792 exhibitors from 110 countries showcased their products.
This year the opening ceremony featured the inspiring Dr Jane Goodall, (DBE) whom we had a chance to speak to about the role organic can play in building a sustainable future for all.
IFOAM – Organics International was onsite for the duration of the trade fair with a booth and also in several congress sessions. Highlights included a session with Mogens Jensen, Ministry of Agriculture and Food of Denmark who spoke about how policies can foster organic growth.
In addition, the latest statistics on organic farming were presented. Worldwide, there are now over 2.8 million organic farmers, 71.5 million hectares are managed organically, and the global market for organic food is worth almost 97 billion euros!
We thank everyone who stopped by our booth and came to our sessions! We look forward to catching up again next year, when the world of organic meets from 17-20 February 2021.
